FAQs
What surfaces can be spray paved?
Concrete, compressed fibro board, and bitchumin (asphalt)
How long after the concrete is laid can I have a spray cover applied?
Ideally concrete should be “broom”finished, then 28 days later we will start the transformation.
How long will the whole process take?
Any renovation can be tedious and stressful but one of the beauties of spray pave is that we have a quick turn around and an average job could be completed in three days. Very satisfying.
How will the work flow affect us?
Depending on where your area to be sprayed is situated we may need to work out a flow of work so that we do not restrict all your door entries. We will plan with you so that we minimize any inconvenience to your family and pets.
Can I do anything about my dirty, dull exposed aggregate?
Oh yes, driveways and pool surrounds that are ugly can be cleaned up real well to achieve that initial sparkle. Then you can either plain colour seal or add a little zest and colour seal in a suitable shade.
Do I need to do any preparation to my concrete before I call you?
Not at all, we have a special 8 stage cleaning process that we follow that enables us to apply our cover-crete or spray cover safely to your surface.
What about the ugly cracks in my concrete?
Cracks are a result of substrate movement and we can’t “fix” them as such. We can back fill them and hide them but understandably they may reappear as the substrate moves again.
Can painted concrete be sprayed over?
No, the paint needs to be removed . Either you can arrange that yourselves prior to our arrival or we can simply take care of that for you.the paint must be removed chemically , or by grinding and sand blasting. Should you require us to do this we will inform you of the extra costs incurred for this. See our portfolio for more examples.
What about my pets?
When we spray we really do need for any pets to be suitably removed from our work zone. Ps this applies to children and adults as well.
Bat “droppings” What do I do?
If the flying foxes, bats have paid a courtesy visit , simply sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the offending area and then pour on vinegar and scrub with a soft brush as the mixture is fizzing. Repeat this process if mess is resistant, and then wash with clean water .
How long after sealing do I have to wait before I can walk on “the job”?
After we have sealed, you should be able to walk on it after about 3 hours. We recommend that nothing is placed upon it for 5 to 7 days so that the seal can harden slowly and evenly. Certainly no rubber wheeled equipment should rest on it for the first week.
What if my concrete is worn, uneven and deteriorating in different stages, can you help?
After careful preparation we can cover-crete your unsightly, drab concrete in a refreshing new style and colour of your choice, thus creating a uniform, appealing new look. This is a great way to increase property value.
